Coldcut - Boot the System / Atomic Moog

Die Liner Notes:
"Boot The System" asks why our gouvernments sanction and encourage the arms trade which promotes genocide, ethnic violence and war. The UK is a prime mover in the arms trade, one reason why it can be difficult to feel proud to be British. Dedicated to CAAT (Campaign Against The Arms Trade), the Stop the Hawks campaign and the Ploughshares movement. Also inspired by a group of women in the UK (Seeds of Hope) who recently where acquitted after disableing a Hawk aircraft at British Aerospace. This plane was due to be sold to Indonesia who would have used it to further their evil campagne of genocide in East Timor where hundred of thousands of people have already been murdered. As the sample from Tony Benn says, the issue is not just one particular arms sale, nor even the UK government's complicity in the genocide in East Timor, but the larger destabilising effect of the arms trade on world peace.

"Atomic Moog 2000" is about our governments and military poisoning the planet and killing us all with atomic weapons, atomic power and nuclear tests which have little point. Atomic power is NOT as safe as our rulers would have us belive, and continuing relevations show that governments have known this but hushed the resultungs problems up rather than admit their errors. Surprise surprise. Dedicated to Greenpeace and all those fighting to prevent such tragedies.
